Bilingual program

greek bookletBilingualism can give students great opportunities for future employment and many other advantages.

Students at Westall continue to gain subject literacy in two languages - Chinese/English Science and Greek/English Mathematics. Bilingual Greek is taught through mathematics classes in Years 8 and 9, and through art classes from Years 7 to 9.

The college was awarded close to $2 million in 2009 from the Federal Government towards the construction of a new science and language centre. This will be completed during 2010 and is an exciting addition to the college facilities.

Westall Secondary College was selected in 1997 by the Department of Education to pilot the innovative Bilingual Project. It is a content-based teaching and learning bi-literacy project.
